Veen, huh? You could have also gone with "fssh", but that looks dumb. You could have also used the good old "tmp tmp tmp" for some footsteps.

But you also have to consider the background. "tmp tmp tmp" is usually used when someone is running across wood or hard surfaces like stone or tile. Whereas your background suggested an outside location such as a field or mountainous terrain. So, I think you probably went with the best sound effect word. :)
