cuddly wooly critters by EatToast cuddly wooly critters by EatToast
for the sheep show this year i made little sheeps, llamas and alpaca mini sculpey toys. they have nails for eyes and legs.

for those of you who are unaware of the difference between llamas and alpacas,

llamas have are taller, have long ears and longer fur

alpacas are shorter, have tiny ears and have softer shorter fur

:)

Thank you! Sculpey can be hard to work with, but it's a lot of fun. The shiny comes from a varnish I put on each piece after it's cooked.

I just went to the MD sheep and wool festival for the first time ever this year. I was working at a booth that was right across both llamas and alpaca. After seeing them all weekend and petting them I now want a pet alpaca<3 They are just too adorable.

Your alpacas are very cute as well<3

thanks! i wore my katamari prince on my belt as usual, and a lot of people were asking about him and who made him, if i knew you were at the show, i would have directed them your way!!!!!!!!!! :noes:

That's okay. I wouldn't have had them with me. I was working at a booth for work. We were selling a demo'ing our wood turning school. I have to keep the the little princes away from the lathe. Rolling up sharp tools doesn't always end up with happy results.

We used to make cloths from their fur. I still have a bag I made and a matching hat and gloves, but I mostly just carry the bag.

All of them are beautifully crafted! Even the way you painted them is lovely!

I for some reason am drawn to the one with the dreads. Though the caramel 'critter' in front of him is just as cute. :)

u should glue cotton on their backs.

real wool would be authentic but smelly.

most people who sell tiny toys at the show use cotton balls, or lots of cotton fluff. i think if i did that too then i'd have too generic a product...although they'd certainly be more cuddly that way though :/

i just mean a little. like glue on a cotton ball, then pull the cotton ball off after it dries and have fuzz.
but they look good as is too~! I love all the details in different breeds. people are going to be all over these.

you should make sheep accessories like hats with horns and matching wooly mittens. oh man now i wanna make a hat with sheep horns...

maybe! i made these for a lack of new prints this year, literally, the DAY before the show. i'm glad i did, because they did so well. i'm not a sewing person, so hats are probably not going to work. you can get sheep horn hats at most ren fairs though, i saw a bunch of people wearing them. :0
